# Downloading your tachograph data

Smartanalysis is a cloud-based, Software as a Service compliance management solution.

If you have analogue tachographs in your fleet, paper charts will need to be posted or scanned so we can input the data into [Smartanalysis](https://ppsmartcompliance.descartes.com/solutions/smartanalysis-tachograph-analysis-software/ "Smartanalysis"). Decartes can provide a suitable [scanner](https://ppsmartcompliance.descartes.com/product-category/tachograph-hardware/ "approved scanner") that will work with Smartanalysis along with [paper charts](https://ppsmartcompliance.descartes.com/product-category/tachograph-supplies-and-consumables/ "Charts from £2.40/box") from £2.40 a box of 100 charts and [envelopes](https://ppsmartcompliance.descartes.com/product-category/tachograph-supplies-and-consumables/ "Envelopes from £3.50 a box") from £3.50 a box of 100 in our [online shop](https://ppsmartcompliance.descartes.com/shop/ "Shop now").

Digital tachograph data can be submitted to Smartanalysis from your depots via the internet using a range of [download devices](https://ppsmartcompliance.descartes.com/product-category/tachograph-hardware/) and [smartcard readers](https://ppsmartcompliance.descartes.com/product-category/tachograph-hardware/) using our free digital downloader software. For remote locations where a PC or IT support is not available, a [digipostpro](https://ppsmartcompliance.descartes.com/product/digipostpro-4g/ "digipostpro") will be required. If you have digital tachographs (VDO 1.3+ or Stoneridge Rev 7.0+) data can be submitted to Smartanalysis automatically with no manual intervention from your vehicles using [Smartdownload](https://ppsmartcompliance.descartes.com/solutions/smartanalysis-tachograph-analysis-software/submitting-tachograph-data/automatic-remote-download-smartdownload/ "Smartdownload: Automatic Remote Download").
